History
Maranthis is the head of a prominent Dunmer house with ties to both Hlaalu and Redoran. He is known in scholarly/arcane circles for his work and expertise in both Daedric and Dwemer lore. An accomplished mage, he often teaches through the mages guild, believing in the propagation of knowledge for those who have the passion and drive to pursue such studies. He is a follower of the Trimuverant, specifically Vivec, seeing their continued existence as a symbol of Dunmer strength and cunning. He has two grown children, and up until meeting and then marrying Valkyrie Sibylle, he was a widower.
At present, he sees the need for the end of the "Three Banners War", and is in support of his wife's efforts in that cause. Beyond his ties Dunmer houses, the pact and the mages guild, he now has Breton ties to his brother-in-law, Duke Sibylle. While a match between a Dunmer and Breton were quite a surprise to many, the two have embraced the strategic nature of their union, and are working to strengthen the position of the Ruarieth house, and in turn, working with Duke Sibylle, while growing their influence within the Dunmer and Pact lands.
